A 30 cm Willow ring will be supplied. Now what to bring …
- Strong scissors, wire cutters, pliers, secateurs, gloves (if you normally use) and an apron (to protect your clothes)
- A cover for the table top and bag for your rubbish to please take home.
For the INDOOR WREATH
- Selection of natural dried flowers, leaves, twigs, lichen, sisal, tissue paper, raffia, dried bunny tails, succulents
- Or
- Silk or artificial flowers and foliage, leaves, berries, baubles
- Or
- For a fresh flower wreath – a small selection of spring flowers* see below for ideas of flowers/foliage.
- a water source either “test tubes” and/or small yoghurt pots
For the OUTDOOR WREATH
- Small selection of fresh plant material – small long-lasting flowers such as spray carnations or spray chrysanthemums, kalanchoe plant.
- Tet-a-Tet daffodils or grape hyacinths from your garden are also suitable.
- Sprigs of Salix caprea (pussy willow) also work well.
- Other flowers can be used but they will need to be replaced more often. Also, leaves, twigs, lichen, sisal.
- Small yoghurt pots (please make a couple of holes in the pots before coming), or test tubes for water source
- Remember the scale of your wreath and the scale of your flowers
AND to decorate some suggestions – Easter bunnies, chicks, eggs, feathers. (Home Bargains, the Range, Poundland).
Ribbon / string / raffia / hessian to coordinate with your accessories – at least one metre in length if you wish to make a bow – wired edged ribbon makes a firmer bow, with a little extra length for hanging.
If you are designing the Outdoor wreath your decoration will need to be sturdy to withstand the elements!
The club will supply the willow wreath ring, oasis if you are using, hot glue, some test tubes, wire
Please do not buy heaps of ‘stuff’ – bring what you have.
There is no right or wrong, this is your wreath, and you need to make what suits you and your taste, otherwise you will not be happy with your finished wreath!
There will also be light refreshments and a chance to mingle and get to know your fellow club members & visitors. There will be the opportunity to purchase a Floral Quiz (£1) to complete either your self or with family and friends.
